mith and legend

Are there mythological or lengendary creatures similar to Ankylosaurus?--79.44.63.248 (talk) 09:54, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, now that we know about the dino, it has influenced other fictional characters. So would you count bulbasaur as a mythical creature? Also, keep in mind the look and attributes change depending on who's telling the story. So some basilisks look like the Anky, but other basilisks look more like a cockatrice. If you want to search further, use the term bestiary. So a google image search for /myth bestiary/ might be good to browse through. [1] SemanticMantis (talk) 15:35, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Anguirus is pretty close. Armadon is less famous, but a bit closer. InedibleHulk (talk) 21:12, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Those are good, way better than mine. Of course we might consider Primal Rage to be legendary, not sure if anyone else does ;) There's also some rather deep ontological issues at play. Never mind, Armandon is clearly not an actual Ankylosaur, he's a Tristegasauratops. SemanticMantis (talk) 21:55, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I just think Primal Rage was decent. The tasty in-game worshipers are the ones who make the characters mythological, rather than fake. InedibleHulk (talk) 18:01, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Post coitum omne animal triste est sive gallus et mulier. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 23:31, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
'Post coitum' always means 'have a cigarette' for me... :) KägeTorä - () (Chin Wag) 01:00, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"Have a cigarette all animals are sad except chickens and women". Is this an example of your renowned translatorial prowess, KT?  :) -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 01:34, 28 February 2015 (UTC) [reply]
Shouldn't sive here mean "whether", not "except"? μηδείς (talk) 04:05, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not according to List of Latin phrases (P). But gallus apparently means rooster or, if you prefer, cock. Is cock your preference? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 05:15, 28 February 2015 (UTC) [reply]
I have nothing against roosters or cats, but sive means either, whether, or or--not "except". English "except" is praeter, nisi or excepta. μηδείς (talk) 05:27, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Cats have not even been mentioned..... KägeTorä - () (Chin Wag) 13:13, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Think euphemisms. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots14:39, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I tawt I taw a putty cat :) KägeTorä - () (Chin Wag) 15:44, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Except for the extra 199,994 tons of armour. No wonder he fell. But better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. InedibleHulk (talk) 20:24, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
According to someone on Wikipedia, in Far-Seer, it's "armourbacks" all the day down instead of turtles. InedibleHulk (talk) 20:36, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ankylosaurus are much bigger than turtles, right? So the advantage to Ankylosaurus all the way down is that should require fewer of them. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots22:55, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Soft bellies, though. Not great for stacking. The bottom of a turtle shell is called a plastron, in case anyone was wondering. No idea if it would protect from whatever wiped out the ankylosaurs, but it's handy for stability. InedibleHulk (talk) 23:18, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
... and if they go down forever, then it's the same infinite number whatever finite creature you use. Dbfirs 18:25, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And the editor gets a cigar! ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots19:29, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
BB seems to have an infinite number of cigars. I'm turning up at his house tonight. Anyone care to join me? KägeTorä - () (Chin Wag) 06:48, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Filthy and satanic habit. Wikipedia is bad enough without actually making it an occasion of sin. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 19:37, 2 March 2015 (UTC) [reply]
Never in the New or Old Testament was I taught that Satan smoked cigars. He just smoked other people, apparently, hence the hellfire for eternity. Can't die of cancer from that, if you are going to burn for eternity. KägeTorä - () (Chin Wag) 16:21, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
